On Friday, August 21, the Los City Council proclaimed Friday August 21, 2015 as KJLH Day in the City. It was an auspicious occasion which took place in Council Chambers at Downtown’s City Hall. Led by Council President Herb Wesson and joined by 8th District Councilman Marquis Harris-Dawson and 9th District Councilman Curren Price, the entire City Council Body was informed of the history of KJLH in the region from it’s founding by Los Angeles businessman, the late John Lamar Hill, to the station’s current owner Stevie Wonder. The honor was bestowed on KJLH in recognition of it’s 50 year history in the city and was received by Stevie Wonder, KJLH VP/General Manager Karen E. Slade and Program Director Aundrae Russell.
